Oklahoma Fireworks Sale and Use Statewide Rules

Title 68 O.S. Sections 1621 through 1626 establish licensing and seasonal sales windows for consumer fireworks distributors, wholesalers, and retailers in Oklahoma. The State Fire Marshal regulates display fireworks under Title 68 and OAC Title 265. Only fireworks classified as 1.4G consumer fireworks meeting APA Standard 87-1 may be sold to the public. Display operators must hold a state license and notify the State Fire Marshal. Cities and counties may further restrict or ban discharge of consumer fireworks within their boundaries, but they cannot expand the statewide sales window or override state licensing.

Selling fireworks without a state license is a misdemeanor punishable by fines up to $500 and license revocation. Unlicensed display operators face additional civil penalties.
