Gates must be self-closing and self-latching with latch at least 54 inches high. Acceptable materials include screen enclosures, wood, chain link, concrete block, or matching architectural materials. All barriers must meet HVHZ wind load requirements. FL Β§515 requires at least one additional safety feature: pool alarm, safety cover, door alarm, or self-closing doors.
Missing or non-compliant barriers prevent final inspection. Existing deficiencies require immediate correction. Potential criminal liability if incident occurs.
