Code of Ordinances § 5-151(a) adopts the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, 2021 edition, as the swimming pool and spa code of the City of Vestavia Hills. 9, Swimming Pool Barriers, which puts the compliance duty squarely on the permit holder: the permit holder for the installation of a swimming pool is required to comply with all of the Barrier Requirements in Section 305 of that adopted code. Because the ISPSC's Section 305 barrier standard was not itself rewritten by the city, it applies as adopted, and the local amendment functions as an enforcement hook, letting inspectors condition final sign-off on barrier compliance rather than treating the barrier as a separate, optional add-on.
