8 of the Zoning Ordinance is a single, direct rule: in every residential zoning district, a commercial vehicle that is otherwise permitted on the property can only be parked behind the front building line or inside an enclosed structure like a garage, not left visible in a driveway or front yard. 31 as any motor vehicle licensed by the state as a commercial vehicle, so the rule reaches any vehicle carrying that state licensing designation. The Code of Ordinances adds a companion restriction that governs the streets themselves rather than a lot: under Section 9-97, trucks with more than two axles or a gross weight of 10,000 pounds or more are prohibited on residential municipal streets unless the street is posted as a truck route or the trip is a local delivery as defined in Section 9-88.

The Police Chief posts signage marking streets as 'Local Delivery Only' or subject to the axle and weight limits, and the ordinance separately designates truck routes such as Highway 31, Highway 280, Green Springs Highway and Acton Road that carry through truck traffic instead. Together the two provisions mean a resident's commercial vehicle has to sit out of street view on the property, and larger trucks cannot use residential streets at all except through a posted delivery or truck route.
