Kokomo Code of Ordinances § 150.01(A)(7) incorporates Article 20 of Title 675 of the Indiana Administrative Code, the Indiana Swimming Pool Code, by reference into Chapter 150, so pool construction is governed by the state pool code the city has adopted rather than a separate local pool ordinance. Because a pool is new construction, it falls under the general building-permit requirement in § 150.02, issued by the City Civil Engineer only after clear, understandable plans are submitted and reviewed under § 150.03. The fee schedule in § 150.04(B)(2) lists Swimming pool/hot tub among building-permit categories requiring 2 inspections, alongside four inspections for a new house and three for a new garage, at $25 per inspection under the schedule's per-inspection fee.

The electrical side of a pool installation is billed separately: § 150.04(B)(3) sets a $30 electrical permit fee for Swimming pool/hot tub, distinct from the building-permit charge, which is otherwise scaled to construction cost starting at $75 for jobs under $15,000. Electrical permits under this fee table expire one year from the date of issuance.
