Solid waste containers must be placed at ground level on the street or alley boundary in a convenient location acceptable to the collectors, but in a location which will not prevent pedestrian, vehicular, or maintenance functions.2.Solid waste should not be placed at the curb or alley earlier than 4:00 p.m. of the day prior to the day of collection. Empty containers, including automated containers, must be removed from the curb, no later than twelve (12) hours following the day of collection. If solid waste is placed at the curb, or in the right-of-way next to the curb, or alley, prior to 4:00 p.m. of the day prior to the designated collection day, the solid waste division may perform a special pickup of the material and charge the appropriate fee. If containers are left at the curb beyond the time limit, the solid waste division may remove the containers from the curb and charge a fee for this service.3.Residences and businesses with automated collection: Automated containers must be placed with the arrows on the lid toward the street or alley. Containers must be at least two feet away from other containers, vehicles, trees, mailboxes, or other objects to allow unobstructed pickup.
