Unincorporated residents receive 2 free Neighborhood Clean-Up events per year plus on-call bulky item pickup through the franchise hauler. Kiefer and North Area landfills accept drop-offs.
Sacramento County residential customers get twice-yearly Neighborhood Clean-Up events (announced by mail) allowing curbside bulky item set-out. Between events, customers can schedule on-call bulky pickups through Republic Services or Waste Management for a fee or per the franchise allowance. Accepted items include furniture, mattresses, appliances (Freon-containing units require special handling), and e-waste. Self-haul to Kiefer Landfill (12701 Kiefer Blvd) or the North Area Recovery Station is permitted for a tipping fee. Household hazardous waste is handled only at the County HHW facility by appointment.
