030(H), titled Other Materials Placement, lets residential generators who subscribe to collection service set out bulky solid waste, used oil and oil filters, Christmas trees, and any other material permitted under a special hauler program at the curb in front of the residence, or at the edge of the street if there is no curb. the next morning, and clear of driveways and vehicular traffic. Subsection (I) further requires that solid waste generally be containerized at these set-out locations unless noncontainerized placement is allowed for a bulky waste appointment, oil and filter collection, Christmas trees, or another special service.

090(A)(3): a roll-off may sit for a maximum of seven days without a City building permit, but once a building permit is issued, the roll-off container must be serviced at least every fourteen days. Combined with subsection (K)'s requirement that container lids stay fully closed to prevent overflow, spills, odors, and vermin, these rules give Elk Grove residents a defined path for disposing of furniture, appliances, tree debris, and construction cleanup waste without violating the City's set-out standards.
