Lodi residents receive two free/low-cost bulky disposal opportunities each spring: an annual April Curbside Cleanup (up to three 64-gallon carts of extra refuse, free) and Dollar Dump Days at the WM transfer station (up to 2 cubic yards for $1 per load by mailed voucher).
There is no on-demand year-round curbside bulky pickup in Lodi; instead the franchised WM contract provides two annual bulky disposal events. (1) Annual Curbside Cleanup, typically held in April, allows each residential customer to set out the equivalent of three 64-gallon carts of additional refuse at the curb on their normal collection day. Items must be bagged, bundled, or boxed and weigh no more than 50 pounds per container. Service is free of charge. Prohibited items at curbside cleanup include dirt, concrete, liquids, toxic or hazardous materials, cathode-ray-tube (CRT) televisions and monitors, and large heavy metals such as auto bodies and engines. (2) Dollar Dump Days, typically run between March 15 and April 15, allow self-haul up to 2 cubic yards per load for $1 to the WM transfer station at 1333 E Turner Rd, Lodi. A voucher (mailed to each resident in advance) is required. Prohibited at Dollar Dump Days: commercial waste, dirt, concrete, tires, liquids, toxic or hazardous materials, CRTs, auto bodies, engines, transmissions, and CFC-containing refrigerators/air conditioners. Outside of these events, residents needing to dispose of mattresses, large appliances, or e-waste can call WM at 209-369-8274 to arrange paid pickup or deliver items to the Central Valley Recycling transfer station.
Setting out bulky items at the curb outside of the annual Curbside Cleanup window is not collected and is treated as illegal dumping if abandoned on the public right-of-way (see illegal-dumping subcategory). Exceeding cart limits or including prohibited items during cleanup events may result in items being left behind with a tag identifying the issue.
