Section 220-1 B defines a bulky item as one that does not fit in an empty cart, with no single item exceeding 50 pounds, giving furniture, sinks, doors, toys and bicycles as examples; the collection contractor's own definition can further refine what qualifies. Section 220-1 E(5) sets the actual pickup rule: only one bulky item per week is collected, and it goes out on the same day as the resident's regular refuse and recycling service, so there is no separate bulky-item route to schedule. Anything over 50 pounds, or an item the contractor does not classify as bulky, is not covered by the standard weekly allowance; the resident has to arrange pickup directly with the collection contractor, and the contractor may charge for handling large items outside the free weekly allotment.

Because bulky items ride along with the scheduled collection day set under § 220-1 C(4), a resident cannot put out a bulky item on an arbitrary day and expect it collected; it has to coincide with that week's regular pickup.
