Republic Services provides Boise trash (weekly), recycling, and compost (biweekly) collection under city contract. Carts must be at the curb by 6 AM on your assigned day.
Under Boise City Code Title 6 Chapter 8, Republic Services is the exclusive residential collection provider. Each household receives a gray 96-gallon trash cart, a blue 96-gallon recycling cart, and a green 96-gallon compost cart. Collection days rotate across the city Monday through Friday; residents can look up their schedule through the Curb It Boise app. During winter snow events, collection may be delayed by one day but is not canceled except in extreme weather. Carts must be placed at the curb with handles facing the house, at least 3 feet from obstacles, and removed within 24 hours of collection.
Leaving carts at the curb past 24 hours or placing prohibited items (hot ashes, hazardous waste, construction debris) in carts can result in a 50 dollar warning escalating to contract suspension.
