Sec. , Monday through Friday, on the schedule established by the city council for each 'daily hauling district,' a geographic zone defined in Sec. 19-2 where all licensed collectors serving that area pick up garbage, refuse, recyclables, source-separated organics and yard waste on the same day. Municipal solid waste must be collected weekly, and recyclables weekly or biweekly depending on the arrangement between resident and hauler. Commercial, industrial, apartment and institutional accounts get more flexibility under Sec. window, but on any day of the week and as often as necessary to protect public health.

Sec. 19-8(c) builds in six recognized holidays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and if a holiday falls Monday through Thursday, that week's collection simply slides one day later for the rest of the week; residents are directed to the city's online trash collection schedule map for their district-specific day. Haulers who miss the designated collection window are subject to an administrative penalty per incident under Sec. 19-8, and Sec. 19-9(3) separately obligates licensed haulers to comply with these collection days and hours as an ongoing condition of their license, backed by suspension or revocation exposure under Sec. 19-13 for repeated noncompliance.
