Full Breakdown
Clark County Code § 9.04.160 bars placing, keeping, storing, or locating any solid waste or recyclables container -- including commercial dumpsters and roll-off boxes -- within the right-of-way of a street, sidewalk, or alley on multifamily, commercial, or industrial premises, except during the collection days set under § 9.04.150. Where an enclosure was required as part of development approval, or one already exists on-site, the container must be kept inside it. Violations of Chapter 9.04 are misdemeanors: a first offense draws a $200-$1,000 fine and up to six months in jail, and each day the container sits out is a separate offense.
Violations & Fines
Misdemeanor: $200-$1,000 fine and up to 6 months in jail for a first offense, rising to $1,000 plus 10 days minimum jail on a third; each day counts separately.
