Pageland, SC Trash & Recycling: Dumpster Rules (2026)

Section 26-16 regulates every dumpster-type garbage or refuse container in Pageland, public and private. Subsection (a) makes it unlawful for anyone to use a privately owned or rented dumpster that does not belong to them, and subsection (b) extends that logic to public containers by barring nonresidents of the town from using either the town's or a private owner's containers in any manner. Subsection (c) lists what can never go in one of these containers regardless of who owns it: appliances, furniture, mattresses, building materials or similar bulky items are all banned, which is why chapter 26 offers no separate bulk-item pickup service.

Subsection (d) bans scavenging in or from any such container outright. Commercial accounts that actually own or rent their dumpsters operate under section 26-2, which requires them to use approved bulk containers sized to the waste they generate, and section 26-15 bills those class 2 accounts by resolution.
