Under the Apex Town Code, garbage cans must sit at the front of the property, as close to the street as possible, and be curbside only. Containers cannot go out before 5:00 a.m. or stay past 7:00 p.m. on the collection day, and nothing may be left or displayed at the curb on Sunday. Bulk items like appliances, furniture, and water heaters are picked up curbside under the town's current fee schedule and collection policy. This applies within Apex's corporate limits; households outside town limits and its extraterritorial jurisdiction fall under Wake County service instead.
