La Porte, TX Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

The City of La Porte provides residential solid waste and recycling collection through a contracted waste hauler. Trash is collected weekly on a designated day based on the resident's location. Recycling is also collected weekly or bi-weekly depending on the current service schedule. Residents should place bins at the curb with lids closed by 7:00 AM on collection day or the evening before. Bins must be placed at least 3 feet apart and away from mailboxes, fire hydrants, parked cars, and other obstructions. Bags of trash placed outside the bin or loose items beside the container may not be collected.

Bins should be retrieved from the curb by the end of collection day. Residents who miss a pickup should contact the waste hauler or the city to arrange a makeup collection. Household hazardous waste such as paint, chemicals, batteries, and electronics should not be placed in regular trash bins. The city periodically hosts hazardous waste collection events.
