Bellaire provides residential curbside solid waste services through a contracted hauler. Regular household trash is collected once per week on the designated collection day for each neighborhood. Single-stream recycling is collected on a separate weekly schedule. Residents must use the standard bins provided by the city's solid waste contractor. Bins must be placed at the curb with handles facing the house and lids closed by 7:00 AM on collection day. Bins may be set out starting at 6:00 PM the evening before. All bins must be retrieved by 10:00 PM on collection day. Excess trash that does not fit in the bin must be in bags placed next to the container. Hazardous waste, electronics, tires, and construction debris are not accepted in regular collection and must be disposed of through separate channels. Bulky item pickup is available on a scheduled basis. Contact Public Works at (713) 662-8160 for collection schedules, missed pickups, and bin replacements.
Placing prohibited materials in trash or recycling bins may result in the bin being tagged and not collected. Bins left at the curb past the retrieval deadline or stored improperly may trigger code enforcement notices.
