Township Code § 21-3(a) requires "all garbage and refuse shall be kept in the 95 or 65 gallon containers supplied by the Township"; if Public Works determines a household needs a bigger container, the Township supplies it but the resident must install and fence a concrete pad for it, sized to the number of containers needed. Section 21-3(c) requires MSW be "thoroughly and completely drained of water and other fluids, wrapped securely in plastic garbage bags," before going into the receptacle. Section 21-3(e) prohibits mixing "fish, eggs, poultry, dog or cat carcasses, or any animal carcasses, manure, ashes, building materials, hazardous waste and other refuse" into MSW set out for Township collection, and § 21-3(g) and (h) separately bar sweeping loose garbage, grass or refuse into roadways or burning waste there.

Emptied cans must come back off the curb the same day they're collected under § 21-3(j), and at single-family homes must be stored "at least behind the front yard setback" the rest of the week. A resident who needs an extra Township container beyond the one issued free can get one from Public Works for a $49 refundable deposit under § 21-3(p).
