Unincorporated Riverside County residents receive curbside trash, recycling, and organics collection once per week from a county-franchised hauler under Ordinance 773. Riverside County is divided into franchise zones served by Burrtec, Waste Management, CR&R, and other licensed haulers. Cart contamination with prohibited items can trigger tagging, lost service, and contamination fees of 30 dollars or more per incident under SB 1383 compliance rules enforced by the Department of Waste Resources.
