CR&R Environmental Services holds Temecula's exclusive residential and commercial franchise for trash, recycling, and organics collection. Weekly automated collection uses three carts: black (trash), blue (recyclables), green (organics β required under SB 1383). Set carts at the curb by 6 AM on collection day with handles facing the house and 3 feet of clearance between bins. Holiday delays push pickup back one day.
Temecula awarded an exclusive franchise to CR&R Environmental Services for residential and commercial waste collection. Single-family homes receive automated weekly collection of three carts: black (refuse, 64 or 96 gallons), blue (commingled recyclables β paper, cardboard, plastics #1-7, glass, aluminum, steel), and green (organic waste including food scraps, food-soiled paper, and yard trimmings, required under SB 1383). Carts must be at the curb by 6:00 AM on the scheduled collection day, placed with wheels and handles facing the house, with at least 3 feet of clearance from other carts, vehicles, mailboxes, and overhead obstructions to allow the automated truck arm to grasp them. Carts placed too close together, blocked by parked cars, or overflowing (lid not closed) will not be serviced. Pickup days are assigned by neighborhood β check the CR&R address lookup. Holidays observed (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas) push collection back one day for the rest of that week. Bulky item pickup (up to 4 large items, twice per year) is included free with service β schedule by calling CR&R at 800-755-8112. Special items (e-waste, paint, batteries, motor oil) require drop-off at the CR&R Recycle Hub at 41760 Hancock Ave or RivCo HHW events. Construction debris is not residential waste β use a temporary roll-off dumpster from CR&R or another permitted hauler.
