Walton County, GA Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

Walton County Code § 46-41, in Chapter 46's Article II on residential solid waste, sets the day-to-day placement rules for unincorporated county residents served by curbside collection rather than a commercial dumpster. Subsection (a) requires occupants of single-family homes, apartments, condominiums and other multifamily units to put refuse receptacles, rubbish and bundles at roadside locations on their assigned collection day in a manner that does not obstruct passage, and bars setting anything out before dusk the day before pickup. Subsection (b) requires occupants to pull empty containers back to a storage spot nearer the dwelling than the street within a reasonable time after collection, so cans cannot sit curbside all week.

Subsection (c) prohibits letting refuse pile up, excessively or unsightly, on the property or along the road frontage. Subsection (d) makes it a violation to set out any hazardous waste for collection at all.
