Code § 27-2.5(a)(1)(a) requires single-family solid waste to be placed in Township-issued containers, either the 95-gallon automated green cart or an approved dumpster, to keep it from scattering before or during collection. Hazardous materials such as paints, chemicals, discarded syringes and radioactive or asbestos waste are barred entirely from curbside pickup and must go to a designated hazardous waste facility at the generator's own responsibility (§ 27-2.5(a)(1)(d)). Biodegradable paper bags, defined as two-ply kraft bags printed 'Woodbridge Recycles Leaves,' may be used solely for curbside leaves during the fall leaf collection season set by the Director of Public Works and Parks, and using them for anything else is strictly prohibited (§ 27-2.5(a)(1)(e)).

For bulky items pulled for special handling, appliance doors must be removed, materials drained of liquids, and everything bundled or contained so it will not scatter, with bundles capped at 4 feet in length and 75 pounds in weight (§ 27-2.5(a)(2)(c)). Multifamily properties that generate more waste than the standard containers can hold must switch to dumpster collection at the Division of Sanitation's direction (§ 27-2.5(b)(1)(e)), and automated carts must be set at the roadway edge facing the street, clear of any obstruction that would interfere with the truck's automated lifting arm (§ 27-2.5(a)(2)(e)).
