Showing ordinances that apply to Lake Harbor, FL
Lake Harbor is an unincorporated community (population 49) in Palm Beach County, Florida. Because Lake Harbor is not an incorporated city, it does not have its own municipal code. Instead, Palm Beach County ordinances apply directly to properties here. The recycling requirements rules below are the ones that govern your area.
SWA operates a dual-stream recycling program: blue bins for paper/cardboard and yellow bins for plastics, metals, and glass. Recycling is mandatory countywide under PBC Code Chapter 14.
Palm Beach County uses one of the few remaining dual-stream recycling systems in Florida. Blue cart accepts newspaper, magazines, office paper, cardboard, and paperboard. Yellow cart accepts plastic bottles/jugs (#1, #2), aluminum cans, steel cans, and glass bottles/jars. Plastic bags, Styrofoam, food waste, and yard waste are NOT accepted in carts. Contaminated loads may be rejected. SWA operates a state-of-the-art Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) processing 200,000+ tons annually. Mandatory under PBC Code ยง14-71.
Recycling contamination: warning then $50-$100 fine. Disposing recyclables in trash by businesses: commercial penalties apply.
