Boynton Beach provides single-stream recycling weekly using blue (containers) and yellow (paper/cardboard) bins. Recycling is mandatory per Palm Beach County SWA ordinance.
Blue bin accepts plastics 1-7, aluminum, steel cans, and glass bottles. Yellow bin accepts cardboard, newspaper, mixed paper, and paperboard. Contamination rates above 25 percent can cause loads to be rejected. Palm Beach County Solid Waste Authority (SWA) processes all recyclables at the Lantana MRF. Plastic bags, Styrofoam, and food waste are NOT accepted.
Contaminated loads may be refused or result in education warnings. Persistent non-compliance can result in removal of recycling service.
