Homewood Disposal provides single-stream recycling collection in Tinley Park using wheeled recycling carts. Accepted materials include: paper (newspapers, magazines, mail, office paper); cardboard and paperboard (flattened); plastic bottles and containers marked #1 (PET), #2 (HDPE), and #5 (PP); aluminum and steel cans; and glass bottles and jars (rinsed). Materials should be empty, rinsed, and loose in the cart (no plastic bags). Not accepted: plastic bags and film (recycle at grocery store drop-offs), foam/Styrofoam, pizza boxes with heavy grease, food-soiled paper, pots and pans, hangers, hoses, cords, or 'tanglers' that wrap around sorting machinery, glass cookware and light bulbs (separate disposal), and electronics (separate program).
