City Code § 8-1 defines 'trash' for collection purposes as debris generated in the normal maintenance of landscaping, excluding large branches, trunks, or stumps of trees, plus bottles, cans, boxes, small household appliances, and miscellaneous household debris not exceeding four feet in length or forty pounds in weight. That size and weight cap is the operative limit for grass clippings, palm fronds, hedge trimmings, and small limbs set at the curb: anything longer or heavier than the cap, or any severed tree trunk or stump, falls outside the definition and the contracted hauler is not required to remove it.
