Coral Springs regulates leaf blowers and landscape power equipment under Section 11-12 of the Code of Ordinances. Yard equipment is exempt from noise limits when operated weekdays 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM and weekends/holidays 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, provided equipment has functioning mufflers.
Section 11-12 of the Coral Springs Code provides an exemption for landscape and yard maintenance equipment operated within specified hours: weekdays 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM and weekends/holidays 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Equipment must have functioning mufflers and sound-reducing features. Outside these hours, yard equipment noise must comply with the land-use-based sound level limits in Section 11-14 Table 1. Section 11-11 also specifically prohibits the use or operation of any noise-creating power fan, blower, or motor-driven device unless adequately muffled and deadened to eliminate annoyance. Coral Springs does not ban gas-powered leaf blowers, but equipment must retain original sound-control devices or equivalent aftermarket solutions.
Violations enforced under Section 1-8.1. Civil penalties up to $500 per violation. Equipment operated outside permitted hours or without functioning mufflers is subject to citation by Code Enforcement or Police.
