Coral Springs enforces strict trash bin placement rules under Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances. Carts must be placed within 5 feet of the curb by 7:00 AM on collection day with the handle facing away from the street and the lid facing the road. Carts must be retrieved and stored out of street view by 7:00 PM. Bins left at the curb between collections are a code violation.
Under Chapter 8 of the Coral Springs Code of Ordinances and the waste services agreement with Coastal Waste & Recycling, residents must comply with specific cart placement requirements. On collection day, green (garbage) and blue (recycling) carts must be positioned within 5 feet of the curb by 7:00 AM. The cart handle must face away from the street, with the lid opening facing the roadway to allow mechanical arm collection. All items must be inside the cart with the lid fully closed β nothing may extend above the top rim. After collection, carts must be returned to their storage location (behind the front plane of the house or in a screened area) by 7:00 PM on the same day. Between collection days, carts may not be visible from the street. Carts should be spaced at least 3 feet apart and 3 feet from obstacles (mailboxes, vehicles, trees, fire hydrants) for the mechanical collection arm to operate. The Code Compliance Division enforces bin storage violations as part of the city's property maintenance standards.
Leaving carts at the curb past 7:00 PM or before the permitted time results in a code violation under Chapter 8. Bins stored in front of the house between collection days are also a violation. Citations issued under Section 1-8.1; repeat violations referred to Special Magistrate with fines up to $250/day.
