020(F) sets the R-1 zone rule: "The keeping of the following farm animals only for personal purposes: not more than five poultry and four adult rabbits over the age of four months on any lot. Nothing herein authorizes the keeping of animals for commercial purposes. " That five-bird cap applies citywide in R-1 regardless of lot size, and the commercial-use ban means selling eggs or meat from the flock is not allowed under this provision. 170(B) scales allowances to lot area, permitting up to twenty-four small farm animals such as chickens, ducks or rabbits per ten thousand square feet of lot, one medium animal (miniature potbellied pigs, goats, ponies, sheep) per ten thousand square feet on lots of twenty thousand square feet or more, and one large animal (horses, mules, llamas, bovine, swine, donkeys) per twenty thousand square feet on lots of that same minimum size.
170(C) requires all farm animals to be kept at least one hundred feet from any window or door of a neighboring dwelling, and subsection (E) bars keeping any farm animal in the required front yard. 020(K) as part of full-scale farming rather than a personal-use allowance.
