Redondo Beach Municipal Code 5-1.103 bars dogs from running at large. Off the owner's premises, a dog must be restrained by a substantial chain or leash not exceeding six feet and controlled by a competent person.
RBMC 5-1.103 (Dogs at large) makes it unlawful to permit a dog to run at large on any public street, alley, lane, park, beach, or other public place, or on unenclosed private premises. Off the owner's property the dog must be held on a substantial chain or leash no longer than six feet by a competent person. Dogs are also barred from beaches and from food establishments. RBMC 4-35.07 and 4-35.08 prohibit dogs in city parks except on designated walking paths, the official dog park, or approved events. Redondo Beach runs its own Animal Control (310-318-0611); since October 4, 2021 found animals go to the spcaLA South Bay Pet Adoption Center in Hawthorne, not LA County DACC.
