Starting in 2020, new rules apply to reptile and amphibian ownership in Utah. Commonly kept exotic pets like certain snakes and lizards may require documentation. Wild-caught animals may not be kept as pets. Federally protected species (eagles, hawks, migratory birds) are prohibited under federal law.
