2G for the operating condition. 2G(4), reads in full: "Pet grooming. " The definition in § 290-3 draws a careful line: "pet grooming" means an establishment primarily engaged in providing services for common household pets, including bathing, clipping, grooming, feeding and day care, and accessory retail sales, and explicitly does not include overnight pet boarding. A business that keeps animals overnight instead falls under the Code's separate "pet care services" definition, a daytime care establishment that may also provide overnight boarding and hygiene/grooming services but may not breed or sell animals on site, or under "veterinary services," which covers on-site boarding tied to veterinary care.

Because pet grooming is a permitted use rather than a special-permit use in the Hamlet Center districts, an operator does not need Zoning Board of Appeals approval to open, but must still secure a building permit and comply with the Town's commercial performance standards under § 290-13, including noise and waste-handling limits. Any outdoor wash station, kennel run or exercise area attached to a grooming business pushes the use outside the indoor-only condition and into a code violation, regardless of how the business otherwise operates.
