The Town of Queen Creek adopts the International Fire Code, 2021 Edition, then amends it section by section in Town Code Section 7-2-12. 59, singles out commercial daycare facilities for a dedicated operational permit: a thorough fire inspection conducted once every year and again whenever the facility changes ownership. 58 (inspected at opening and then every three years, or on change of ownership). The Fire Chief is established under Town Code Section 18-1-1 with authority to enforce the Fire Code, appoint a Fire Marshal to handle fire prevention townwide, and assign fire prevention inspectors as needed.

Permits are processed through the Fire Department under Section 18-1-4, which authorizes the Chief, Fire Marshal, or a designee to receive applications, conduct inspections and re-inspections, and issue permits, and bars issuance where public safety would be at risk. A daycare operator who lets the annual reinspection lapse, or who transfers ownership without triggering the required inspection, is out of compliance with the operational permit requirement and can be cited under the Fire Code's general enforcement provisions. Owners should contact the Queen Creek Fire Department to schedule the annual inspection well before the anniversary date, since the permit is tied to the calendar year and to any ownership change, not to a single one-time approval.
