(a)Required.(1)Electrical permits are required in accordance with SPS 316.012(1).(2)No permit shall be required for repairs necessary for the proper maintenance of an existing installation.(b)Application and issuance. The Inspector shall issue permits for all electrical installations for light, heat or power upon the filing of proper application on forms furnished by him, which shall prescribe the nature of the work as well as such other information as may be required for inspection.(c)Fees. Fees, as established by the Common Council, for wiring and installing fixtures or appliances in new construction or remodeling, shall be paid to the Electrical Inspector before the electrical permit is issued. If the electrical work is begun before the permit has been obtained, an amount double the required fee shall be charged.(d)Special permits. Application for a special permit for work that does not require immediate inspection shall be filled out by the master electrician responsible.(e)Temporary permits. On applying for a permit for temporary work, the time which such wiring is to remain in service shall be specified.
