Full Breakdown
010(A) adopts the California Green Building Standards Code, 2022 Edition, on file at the city's permit center, as the green building standards code of the city, incorporated into the Redding Municipal Code as though printed in full. 2R-06 for additional guidance. The code has been re-adopted with each triennial code cycle since 2010 (Ordinance Nos. 2473, 2501, 2558, 2616, 2638, and 2655), alongside the city's parallel adoptions of the California Building Code, Residential Code, and Energy Code in the same title. 010 also enforces the green code's mandatory measures, including its moisture-protection, water-efficiency, and construction-waste-diversion requirements, as part of standard plan review and inspection.
Violations & Fines
Title 16 has no separate CALGreen penalty clause, so the citywide general penalty applies: violating any mandatory requirement of the code, including the adopted Green Building Standards Code, is a misdemeanor under Section 1.12.020, punishable by up to a $1,000 fine, six months in county jail, or both, and each day a violation continues is a separate offense under Section 1.12.030.
