The Illinois Plumbing License Law 225 ILCS 320/18 establishes the minimum requirements for the issuance of a permit for the installation and or repair of plumbing, except that the city may only issue a permit to the owner occupant of a single-family residence where the plumbing work is proposed without requiring a valid plumbing license in so long as the owner occupant has also lived at the residence for at least six (6) months and provides evidence of same.
