Violations & Fines

Plumbing work performed without the required permit, or in violation of the adopted Folsom Plumbing Code, is enforced through the same Title 14 scheme as every other construction code chapter: Sections 14.02.060 through 14.02.080 make it an administrative violation and a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to one thousand dollars, imprisonment in county jail for up to six months, or both, and classify it a Level E administrative violation carrying its own monetary sanction range under Section 1.09.012. The community development department can issue a notice to correct with a stop order under Section 1.09.023, giving as little as seven and as many as thirty calendar days to apply for a missing permit before the stop order lifts.
