" Section 114-12 backs this up on the registration side: it is unlawful to install, alter or maintain plumbing or carry on the trade of plumbing in the Town without first obtaining a certificate of registration from the Building Inspector, and no plumber may perform work under a permit without that registration current. Before issuing a registration, the Building Inspector requires the applicant to post a certificate of liability insurance naming the Town as additionally insured, submit proof of workers' compensation and disability insurance, and keep current documentation of every plumber in the applicant's employ.

Registrations run on a calendar year and expire every December 31; once expired, the plumber cannot be issued new permits or continue work until renewal. Permit and registration fees are set on the Town of Greece Fee Schedule as approved from time to time by Town Board resolution, per Section 114-8B(1). Section 114-12 also governs abandonment: when a building is demolished, water services must be shut off at the corporation connection (or curb box if disruption would result) and storm or sanitary laterals plugged or capped within the property line.

Separate provisions in the same section regulate grease traps and separators for commercial establishments, requiring automatic shutdown mechanisms and periodic cleaning documented for Building Inspector review.
