Taylorsville, UT Building Safety: Plumbing Permits (2026)

Taylorsville does not maintain a separate adopted plumbing code citation the way it names the International Building Code and National Electric Code in section 15.08.010; plumbing work instead falls under that same construction-code adoption and is administered as a subpermit under section 15.08.030, titled Fees For Subpermits. That section says plumbing, electrical, and mechanical fees are not assessed separately when those subpermits are issued together with a building permit for which the required building permit fees have already been paid, so a homeowner remodeling a bathroom as part of a larger permitted project does not pay an extra plumbing fee on top of the building permit fee.

The same section requires that if two or more subpermits, such as plumbing together with electrical or mechanical work, are needed for a job, the applicant must take out a full building permit rather than stand-alone subpermits.
