Ogden, UT Business Licensing & Operations: Adult Entertainment (2026)

Ogden City Code § 5-15-10(A) makes it unlawful for a licensed adult live entertainment business to locate within 330 feet of a business licensed to sell or serve alcohol, though the same business may separately hold its own alcohol license. Subsection (B) requires every sexually oriented business, including adult bookstores, adult video stores, adult motion picture theaters and adult theaters as defined in § 5-15-3, to operate only in areas zoned for that use under the zoning ordinance. m. Design standards under § 5-15-11 require an unobstructed sightline from a manager's station to every patron area except restrooms, minimum one foot-candle lighting, and for live entertainment venues, a performance stage raised at least 2 feet with a 3 foot buffer from patrons marked by a physical barrier at least 3 feet high; beds, sofas or lockable interior doors are barred except in narrow listed exceptions.

Section 5-15-13 requires licensees to report any change in application information to the business license coordinator and police department within 14 days, and bars transferring an individual license or more than 10% interest in an entity license without a new application.
