Carson Municipal Code § 9122.7 permits minor motor vehicle repair and service as an accessory use to a dwelling in Carson, California (Los Angeles County), but only on vehicles owned by and registered to the dwelling's occupants or their invitees. Work must occur in an enclosed garage or a screened carport, side or rear yard; if performed on a driveway or paved area visible from the street, it is limited to washing, fluid changes, and swapping items like wiper blades, filters, brakes and batteries. No more than one vehicle visible from the public right-of-way may be repaired at a time, repetitive engine testing is barred, and no repair may create loud, unusual or penetrating noise disturbing to a reasonable neighbor.
