Leak Reporting Duty

In Wayne Township, New Jersey, the property owner maintains the water service line between the curb stop and the meter. All leaks in that line must be reported promptly to the Division of Water and Sewers and repaired by the owner. If repairs are not made, the Division shuts the water off and keeps it off until the line is serviceable and all charges for damage or loss of water are paid.
