In unincorporated Bannock County, building a permanent or deep swimming pool requires a building permit under the county's adopted International Swimming Pool and Spa Code and its own amendment to the residential code's exempt-work list. Section 15.04.200 rewrites IRC Section R105.2 so only prefabricated pools four feet deep or shallower skip the permit process; anything deeper needs a permit, plans and inspection through the building official.
