In unincorporated Bannock County's Recreation (REC) zoning district, new nonresidential construction must preserve existing healthy trees with trunk diameters of eight inches or more. Bannock County Code Section 17.24.050(A) lets Planning and Development Services waive the rule for safety hazards or building conflicts, but developers who remove a protected tree without cause must replant it at a set minimum size.
