Fire Pits & Backyard Fires

Open fires anywhere in the Bergen County Parks System are confined to spots the county has set up for that purpose, and campers need a separate Fire Permit from the Fire Warden before lighting a fire at a campsite. Combustible material must stay at least ten feet from any fire, fires must sit in an approved fireplace, and no one can leave a live fire unattended.
