For unincorporated Carteret County lots that have not been assigned to one of the county's numbered zoning districts, Zoning Ordinance Sec. 1607 sets a 20-foot front setback (40 feet on a lot abutting a major thoroughfare), a 10-foot side setback (15 feet on a corner lot's street side), and a 30-foot rear setback.
