In unincorporated Elko County, Nevada, Elko County Code § 4-8-16 bars anyone from placing or installing a home security camera with the intent to capture images or video of areas of another person's home or real property where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Elko County Code § 4-8-16

(A) No person shall place or install a home security camera with the intent to capture images or video record areas of another person's home and/or real property wherein there is a reasonable expectation of privacy. (B) "Home security camera" means any video recording device or any other device that captures images used for security and/or surveillance on real property. (Ord. 2021-03, 10-20-2022)
