In unincorporated Georgetown County, nobody may block a county- or state-owned sidewalk or bike path so a pedestrian or bicyclist must step off it onto private property or into the street, under County Code Sec. 13.8-122. "Block" is defined broadly: standing on the part fit for travel, or leaving an object or vehicle on it, both count. This section states no fine of its own, so the general penalty in Sec. 1-6 applies: up to $200 or 30 days in jail.
