Bike Lane Rules
Georgetown County Code Sec. 13.8-125 bans driving a moped or motor vehicle on any public sidewalk or bicycle path in the unincorporated area, except to cross it on a permanent or authorized temporary driveway. The section covers county- or state-owned bike paths as defined in Sec. 13.8-121 and prints no fine of its own, so a violation is punished under the Code's general penalty in Sec. 1-6: a fine of up to $200 or up to 30 days in jail.
