Outside the cities, a fire pit within 50 feet of the Kenai River or other cataloged salmon water is only allowed as a permitted temporary-use structure under KPB 21.18.071(A)(5), and only where impervious coverage in that habitat protection district stays under the section's area caps.

Fireworks

Using or selling fireworks is forbidden throughout the unincorporated Kenai Peninsula Borough, outside the cities of Homer, Kachemak City, Kenai, Seldovia, Seward, and Soldotna, under KPB 10.18.020 and 10.18.050. The only exception is a borough mayor-issued public display permit for municipalities, fair associations, amusement parks, and similar organizations.
